Pros: Fantastic Protection of Phone
Cons: Hard to Hear the Phone Ring
I have had my Otterbox for almost 2 years now. I have broken the belt clip once and the black rubber that protects the power charging port. Both times, without questions, Otterbox replaced the broken part without any charge to me as they come with a lifetime warranty. Great service, one phone call and 4-5 days day later the new part. Belt clip works fine as I have it attched on my front pocket. Ive dropped my phone several times with NO damage. Its already paid for itself. Getting ready to buy opne for new Iphone 3GS.

Pros: Protection, Protection, Protection
Cons: Holster
Ive had the Defender for a couple of months. The flaps for the headphone jack, ringer switch and sync port were great. Ive had the phone out in rain with no problems. However, keep in mind (which another reviewer apparently never read the fine print) its not waterPROOF. There is a difference.

The only downsides to this protection is the screen bubbles and the holster. The screen can be fixed using an anti-glare film on the phone. The holster is another story. My iPhone was "phoneslaughtered" the other day when, near my street, the phone was knocked out of the holster, into the street and ran over by a car. The Otter Box was all in one piece. No cracks. but the screen was all cracked.

Pros: damn near invincable
Cons: not quite invincable/holster is great in theory, not great in practice.
The first day I had this covering my phone, its greatest flaw put its greatest attribute to the test. While cresting a set of stairs, a passerby brushed me and knocked the phone out of the holster and down the stairs it went.... No damage done to the phone, for that I was thrilled. The problem is, this never would have happened were I using another holster. The OtterHolster barely holds the phone at all face out, and face in, itll pull the silicon off rather than let it go.

This is a great improvement over the iPhone1G case, but still needs work. Also, I never got used to the membrane on front, ended up cutting it out, and using a standard screen protector.

All said, ive only complained, but i rate it a four star bit of kit. EVERYTHING ELSE about this otter was fantastic, and even when the day came that I broke it so severely it needed to be tossed, the phone came out unscathed!
AWESOME PROTECTION

I dont know about anyone else, but my husband and I were in the yard (where we have a pool) My son came running and asked if we had heard anything and we both panicked, our dogs were fighting so my husband tore off and I behind him well his phone flew off the holster that was on his pants and fell in the pool, he didnt even notice my son saw it fly and went to get it out of the pool, 30 seconds, we took off case put it in rice to make sure and a couple days later poof...perfect...No problems...Thank God for the OTTERBOX....I dont recommend anyone try this on purpose. But I have to say it was worth the money, better than any insurance plan we ever had.
Otter Box waterproof ?
User: Stan Roberts, Jun 16, 2009
Pros: Looks rugged
Cons: Not for daily use
Purchased for active weekend use kayaking, boating, skiing. Getting the phone into the otterbox, stretching the rubber seal around it to be cumbersome. I do not feel that it would protect it if it went into the water. In have an aquapod case that ism qyuicker and have not had a problem. I thought the Otter box would be a step up. By the time you get it out of its agressive clip holder you loose the call. And who has a belt on a pare of swim trucks / Having a blue tooth headset is impraatical on the water . Would not buy again.
